The Technology Solutions Analyst IV position is a critical role within the Department of Technology, specifically in the Division of Information Services. This position involves consulting with users to evaluate, develop, and document an understanding of business processes, needs, expectations, and technology requirements. The analyst will analyze and review requests for data integrations, batch ETL, data visualizations, and additional technologies to standardize data management and access to data. The role requires the development of outlines for data integration designs, defining requirements and parameters for proposed information management systems, and preparing cost estimates and project timelines for implementation. Recommendations for improvements to business processes are also a key responsibility. In this role, the analyst will analyze currently available data sources, data integration tools, and data management systems to determine their compatibility with user needs and the City's technical capabilities. Collaboration with specialists in areas such as data engineering, database management, and data visualization systems is essential to meet specific departmental requirements. The analyst will document the development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of business systems, directing the preparation of reports, training materials, and operational procedures related to these systems. Familiarity and prior experience with ETL platforms such as Talend, Tableau, SQL Server, and GitHub are highly desired. Under direction, the analyst will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and improving enterprise data and/or application solutions, performing related duties as required. This includes developing data and application solutions, conferring with departmental personnel to analyze current operational procedures, and documenting potential problems. The analyst will also analyze requirements for data and application solutions, review outlines of new or revised business system processes, and make recommendations for improvements. The role requires a strong understanding of system designs within time and budget constraints, as well as the ability to consult with technical staff to evaluate business processes and translate them into technical requirements.
