U.S. Data Security (USDS) is a subsidiary of TikTok in the U.S., created to enhance focus and governance on data protection policies and content assurance protocols to ensure the safety of U.S. users. The teams within USDS are dedicated to providing oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and U.S. user data, allowing millions of Americans to use TikTok for learning, earning, self-expression, and entertainment. Our teams span across various functions including Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Operations, and Corporate Functions. As a Lead Data Analyst/Senior Data Analyst, you will be part of a passionate team of Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Operations professionals who safeguard TikTok's U.S. user data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive actionable insights from U.S. user data, maximizing monetization results while ensuring a pleasant user experience within the app. This role is crucial in driving monetization efforts and requires a strong analytical mindset to apply expertise in data analysis and visualization, enabling a deeper understanding of user interactions with our ads products. In this individual contributor role, you will manage projects and deliver data support for both short-term and long-term business development plans through in-depth analysis. You will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to solve business problems, build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of business products. The position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work in the office three days a week, with flexibility based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Apply expertise in data analysis and visualization to understand user interactions with ads products.
  • Deliver data support for short-term and long-term business development plans through in-depth analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product managers, data science, and engineers to solve business problems.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor business product performance.
  • Manage projects as an individual contributor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or other quantitative fields.
  • 5 years of experience in Data Analytics.
  • Expert experience in pulling large and complex data using SQL and writing data pipelines.
  • Experience with a data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in quantitative analysis.
  • Development experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop) is a plus.
