About the position

The Data Analyst VI position at the Arizona Supreme Court's Adult Probation Services division is responsible for providing advanced-level statistical data entry and quality control for information received from Arizona probation departments. This role involves maintaining permanent files, assisting in the testing of new data submission enhancements, and publishing annual data reports. The analyst will also design and implement statewide initiatives and provide training to court personnel on data submission processes. The position may offer a hybrid-telework schedule after three months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate statistical data entry and data quality control for information from Arizona probation departments.
  • Maintain permanent files and records related to statistics gathered from probation departments.
  • Assist in testing new enhancements related to statistical data submission and reporting.
  • Publish annual data reports reflecting the work of probation departments in the state.
  • Create data dashboards for the public website.
  • Design and implement statewide initiatives, grants, and projects in cooperation with court and community correction professionals.
  • Provide virtual and onsite training to court personnel on data submission processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, computer science, social science, or related field with coursework in research methodology and statistics.
  • At least five years of statistical research experience, or directly related experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Microsoft ODBC interface.
  • Ability to work effectively with judges, staff, and the public.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various tracking databases and Microsoft products, particularly Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in criminal justice, social science, or a related field with appropriate research methodology and statistical coursework.
