About the position

The Data Analyst, Visualization and Reporting will be an integral part of the Business Intelligence and Health Outcomes team at Well, contributing to the development of the company's analytics platform that drives data-driven insights. This role is pivotal in enhancing the organization's ability to make informed decisions through careful data curation, analysis, and visualization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, which includes framing business questions, collecting and analyzing data, conducting research, and sharing insights with stakeholders. Collaboration is key, as the analyst will work closely with team members to positively impact Well's members, clients, and overall business objectives. In this position, the analyst will structure data to create meaningful reports, dashboards, and visualizations that support operational performance and strategic goals. They will play a crucial role in improving data-driven decision-making by contributing to data management and governance, ensuring that insights are accessible across the organization. The analyst will also handle ad-hoc reporting requests, maintain recurring reporting needs, and identify data sources while applying necessary transformations to facilitate easy data consumption. Additionally, they will leverage a variety of healthcare data sources, analyze large longitudinal datasets, and contribute to the development of the analytical ecosystem that enhances intelligence and drives business decisions. As an analytical expert, the Data Analyst will take personal responsibility for the security of Well's systems and sensitive member data, adhering to data and security policies as well as HIPAA guidelines. This role is not only about technical skills but also about effective communication and collaboration, as the analyst will need to convey complex analyses to non-technical audiences through intuitive user interfaces and clear visualizations. Responsibilities

  • Structure data to deliver meaningful reporting, dashboards, effective metrics, and visualizations in support of operational performance and strategic objectives.
  • Help improve data-driven decision making by contributing to data management, data governance, and democratizing insights across the organization.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests, maintain recurring reporting needs, identify sources of data and apply transformations to create datasets for easy consumption.
  • Create and provide training and formal documentation of delivered outputs.
  • Leverage and utilize a wide range of disparate data sources across healthcare (member, payor, employer, provider, partner).
  • Apply an understanding of healthcare data and analyze large longitudinal health datasets.
  • Develop and contribute to our data and analytical ecosystem working to enhance intelligence and develop insights that drive business decisions.
  • Act as an analytical expert within the team and across the organization.
  • Take personal responsibility for keeping all Well systems and data, including sensitive member data, secure and safe, according to Well data and security policies and HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with SQL and databases.
  • Experience visualizing large datasets using business intelligence applications like Looker, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate technical analyses to non-technical audiences via intuitive user interfaces and clean visualizations.
  • Interest and/or experience in healthcare, public health, and/or healthtech.
