About the position

The Data Analyst position is a contract role focused on data extraction and manipulation within banking environments. The primary responsibilities include tracking billable and non-billable time for audit activities, supporting testing and delivery teams through data analytics, and performing data analysis, transformation, and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL and SAS skills, with experience in ETL development and Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW).

Responsibilities

• Extract and manipulate data from various banking data sources to create actionable insights.
• Perform data analysis, data transformation, and data reconciliation to support testing and validation processes.
• Collaborate with testing and delivery teams to ensure accurate data analytics for validation testing efforts.
• Engage in ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed to support audit services.
• Utilize SQL and SAS for complex query analysis and data extraction.
• Work in an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment, applying understanding of VLDB concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data manipulation and extraction, including data analysis, statistical analysis, and data transformation.
• Banking or Financial Services experience is required.
• Proficiency in SQL queries and SAS for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience in ETL development using standard tools and practices.
• Understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) concepts and experience in querying large databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Audit experience or familiarity with the audit lifecycle.
• Experience working with Informatica or other ETL tools.
• Knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
