About the position

The Data Analyst position at the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta (AHA) focuses on the collection, quality control, and representation of operational and strategic performance data. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance data quality and analytics, ultimately supporting the agency's mission in affordable housing. The analyst will utilize strong analytical skills to identify data quality issues and provide insights that inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, quality control, and representation of operational and strategic performance data.
  • Work with business owners, executive management, and IT teams to measure and resolve data issues.
  • Prepare data sets and operational analyses to identify and quantify data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Strategic Analytics and Research to produce research and recommendations.
  • Analyze and interpret information on the organization and its operations in the context of regulatory requirements and strategic plans.
  • Display information and analysis on KPIs and operational data in Power BI dashboards.
  • Identify new data sources and methods to improve data collection and reporting.
  • Provide support regarding data availability for reporting and research inquiries.
  • Collect customer requirements and design reports to meet data analysis needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public policy analysis, public administration, business, or related fields and one year of experience in data analysis; or bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience in data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL databases, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Background in mixed-method quantitative and qualitative analysis and research is required.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS (or other mapping software) and experience in spatial analysis is preferred.
