About the position

The Data Analyst position at Bowhead involves working within a business intelligence and data warehouse team to provide comprehensive data analysis, design, systems development, and customer support. The role focuses on developing data structures, acquiring data, and ensuring the integrity and documentation of data systems, while also providing customer support and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systems development activities including data table/structure design and data acquisition.
• Create system specifications, data validation, and documentation.
• Develop data interface specifications and online query/report specifications.
• Prepare database load specifications and data validation specifications.
• Provide customer support by interfacing with clients, troubleshooting issues, and conducting product reviews and analysis.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in data analysis or related field.
• High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong analytical skills related to database management and development.
• Knowledge of relational database management systems and data warehousing.
• Experience using Cognos Tool Suite for report and dashboard creation.
• Proficiency in writing and analyzing SQL queries.
• Experience in mathematical reasoning and analytical tools.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for customer support and requirements gathering.
• Knowledge of government accounting, particularly DOD Accounting, is highly desired.
