About the position

The healthcare business analyst plays a crucial role in identifying problems and areas for improvement within a medical facility to enhance performance and profitability. This position involves analyzing financial activities, managing expenses, and developing reporting systems that meet departmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Pinpoint problems or improvement areas within a medical facility to maximize performance and profit.
• Assess financial activity and seek ways to manage expenses like overtime wages and the cost of supplies.
• Analyze reporting needs and develop systems responsive to departmental needs.
• Develop and maintain production reporting capabilities.
• Monitor the timely and accurate production and distribution of all standard and special user-generated reports.
• Provide support to the Utilization Management Department for personal computer usage by teaching classes and developing new applications.
• Utilize SAS SQL SOURCE and other statistical software packages to extract and analyze data required by the Department.

Requirements

• Expertise in EDI and HIPAA Testing with exposure to multiple transactions such as 837, 835, 834, 820, 270, 271, 276, 277, and 278.
• Strong knowledge of managed care payer requirements and operational improvements.
• Experience as a Business Analyst in the Healthcare Industry, particularly in Claim Processing, Billing/Invoicing, and Customer Care.
