About the position

Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Data Analyst to play a crucial role in the company's transformation and modernization efforts. This position involves working closely with business teams to understand their data needs, ensuring data quality, and delivering insights through various data platforms. The Data Analyst will also mentor others in data practices and contribute to the development of business analytics applications.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with business teams to understand their data needs and deliver data for experimentation.
• Promote a data enablement mindset across the organization and mentor others on data practices.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues on FHR's data platform.
• Create and optimize queries for data retrieval using Cypher, VQL, and SQL.
• Improve and streamline existing user-created processes.
• Deliver new content and support existing data assets on FHR's data platform.

Requirements

• Experience with query languages, especially Cypher, SQL, and VQL.
• Ability to rapidly develop proof of concepts and test new ideas.
• Experience developing and supporting business analytics applications such as Power BI, Excel, or MS Access.
• Strong communication skills to convey data standards across stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Neo4j Graph database and Cypher.
• Experience with data quality and stewardship.
• Familiarity with development languages like Typescript and Python.
• Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google, or Azure.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
