About the position

The Data Analyst position at NASPO is responsible for supporting the development of data analytics programs and projects that enable data-driven decision-making across various departments. This role involves collaborating with different teams to enhance operations and customer experiences through effective data management, analysis, and visualization. The analyst will utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to oversee data collection, storage, and analysis, ensuring data integrity and quality while fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of the overall data analytics strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of large datasets using SQL and AWS tools.
  • Apply advanced skills in data collection, cleansing, analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with database engineers to create and optimize database structures and REST APIs.
  • Integrate and aggregate data from multiple sources for reporting and analytics.
  • Contribute to multiple data analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Design and implement business intelligence solutions using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and business metrics.
  • Communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support event setup and administration during NASPO conferences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a data analytics role.
  • Strong knowledge of data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques.
  • Expert proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with open-source scheduling tools like Airflow.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Experience with project management and working with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in working with RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Knowledge of statistical packages for dataset analysis.
