The Data Analyst at the University of Maryland plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining various data extracts, queries, reports, surveys, statistical models, and visualizations. They are responsible for delivering documentation and training materials in a manner that is easily understood by end users, including those unfamiliar with student information and data environments. As a functional expert in enrollment management data, the analyst offers recommendations for research strategies that yield valuable information for campus planners and decision-makers. The role requires the ability to ask clarifying questions to ascertain specific needs and to seek consultation for unique issues. Additionally, the Data Analyst produces both routine and ad hoc reports, including dashboards and benchmarks that assess the quality and efficacy of the institution.
