About the position

The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) is seeking a Data Analyst to support its mission of protecting the United States from terrorism. This role involves integrating, analyzing, and sharing data to inform decision-making and enhance partnerships across the Intelligence Community and other governmental and non-governmental entities. The Data Analyst will create metrics, manage databases, and develop visualizations to measure the impact of outreach activities, while also preparing and presenting analytical briefings to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate partner engagement data for planning and decision making.
  • Use data analytics and visualization to inform resource investment in partnerships and outreach activities.
  • Create qualitative and quantitative metrics to visualize and measure the impact of partnership and outreach activities.
  • Build and manage dashboards and analytics, including managing databases and systems.
  • Conceive, prepare, and communicate a range of strategic graphics, computational models/tools, or written/oral assessments for senior internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of analytic methods and tools in data analysis, applied mathematics, computer programming, and visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive computer software applications.
  • Ability to leverage multiple data management tools to organize information and make decisions.
  • Ability to translate complex findings into an easily understood narrative.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, with a superior ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing demands.
  • At least three years of data analytics experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with programming languages and statistical packages.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and scientific computing.
  • Experience with visualization tools like Tableau.
