About the position

The Front Office Data Analyst position at a leading commodities trading firm offers a unique opportunity for a graduate with 2-3 years of commercial experience to work closely with traders in the US Power & Gas markets. This role focuses on data analysis and insights, supporting trading operations while allowing for the development of technical and analytical skills. The position is desk-aligned, providing a pathway for career progression into more analytical or trading roles.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the US Power & Gas desk, supporting traders with data analysis and insights.
• Handle pricing and fundamentals data for power and gas markets.
• Develop and implement Python solutions to optimize trading decisions.
• Collaborate with traders and the front office team to ensure accurate, data-driven decision-making.
• Work independently while contributing to the overall success of the desk.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of commercial experience, ideally within power and gas markets (other commodities experience may be considered).
• Strong Python development skills.
• Exposure to US Power/Gas market pricing and fundamentals data is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the trading desk.
• A passion for commodities trading and a keen interest in progressing into more analytical or trading roles.
