About the position

As a Data Analyst at Booz Allen, you will leverage your analytical skills to transform complex data sets into actionable insights that support national defense initiatives. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their data needs, extracting and evaluating data, and providing recommendations that influence the development of technologies for the Department of Defense. You will be part of a dynamic team that emphasizes collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Support client and stakeholder relationships using technical knowledge.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies to generate cross-functional solutions.
  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.
  • Simplify technical requirements and trends using data management skills and analytical mindset.
  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using various tools and languages.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Apply data visualization techniques to present information clearly.
  • Merge consulting and big data to create data-centric solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with data engineering or data science.
  • Experience using scientific methods for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and interact with government leadership.
  • Ability to respond accurately and quickly to taskings and develop concise reports.
  • Ability to write and communicate effectively at the executive level.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with gathering, cleansing, and parsing data from aircraft and maritime systems.
  • Experience in test planning and execution, identifying test data requirements.
  • Experience with JMP Statistical Software and JMP Scripting Language.
  • Experience with REGEX coding.
  • Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience developing data visualizations for decision makers.
  • Knowledge of developing analytical tools and simulations.
