About the position

As a Data Analyst at Stripe, you will play a crucial role in partnering with various teams across the organization to ensure that our users, products, and business have the necessary models, data products, and insights to make informed decisions and foster responsible growth. This position involves working closely with partners to extract valuable insights from Stripe's rich and complex datasets. You will be responsible for translating business needs into data problems, building metrics, scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and reports that will inform and guide the business. Your work will culminate in delivering actionable business recommendations through thorough analyses and effective data storytelling. The Data Science team at Stripe is a vibrant community where data analysts, data scientists, and engineers collaborate and grow together. You will have the opportunity to work with some of Stripe's most fundamental and exciting data, contributing to company-wide initiatives. With a variety of Data Analytics roles and teams available, we will align you with the most relevant team based on your background and expertise. Your proficiency in SQL and Python, along with your strong statistical knowledge, will be essential in building data pipelines and analyzing large datasets to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams across Stripe to ensure users, products, and business have necessary models and insights.
  • Extract insights from Stripe's rich and complex data.
  • Translate business needs into data problems.
  • Build metrics, scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and reports.
  • Deliver actionable business recommendations through analyses and data storytelling.

Requirements

  • 2-8+ years experience in Business Intelligence Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or Data Science roles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Strong statistical knowledge.
  • Expertise in visualization and using data insights to make recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly communicate results and drive impact.
  • Comfortable collaborating across functions to identify data analytics problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Prior experience at a growth stage internet or software company.
  • Experience with distributed data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark.
  • Good understanding of development processes and best practices.
