About the position

Point32Health is seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join their Provider Reimbursement analytics team. This role is crucial within the Corporate Data and Analytics organization, focusing on delivering insights on business performance through the analysis of claims data and reimbursement methodologies. The Data Analyst will contribute to financial stability, compliance, and operational capability by evaluating provider-specific reimbursements and generating detailed analytics across various business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Generate detailed analytics focusing on medical cost, reimbursement trends, and market position from a provider perspective across business lines and products.
  • Utilize knowledge of managed care financing and reimbursement methodologies to assess financial performance.
  • Develop SAS and/or SQL queries, Excel pivot tables, and other analytic tools to explore and summarize results.
  • Produce regulatory submissions for evaluating provider cost trends.
  • Conduct analyses to identify gaps, variations, and key performance indicators of reimbursement trends.
  • Critique analytic methodologies and studies to demonstrate problem-solving aptitude.
  • Develop analytic use cases that accurately capture business needs.
  • Apply QA rigor, leveraging peer review and external validation sources.
  • Develop documentation and methodologies for analyses and deliverables.
  • Establish strong business relationships and interface collaboratively with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytics-related field (Healthcare Finance, Business, Economics, or similar); Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a payer/provider setting.
  • Moderate to complex analytics experience required, such as aggregation, normalization, and validation.
  • Intermediate programming skills (e.g., SAS, SQL) required.
  • Experience with health insurance claims data preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Passion for data and problem-solving.
  • Aptitude for simplifying complex scenarios into key takeaways with compelling data storytelling.
  • Proficiency with SAS and/or SQL programming, including creating new queries and performing data manipulation and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including manipulation of large data sets and creating standardized reports.
