About the position

Tria Federal (Tria) is seeking a talented mid-level Data Analyst to support the Industrial Assessments Branch at the Defense Intelligence Agency's Deputy Director for Global Integration (DDGI). In this role, you will conduct comprehensive analyses and calculations to determine how data samples and reporting can best support the mission of the Industrial Assessments Branch and across the Agency. You will be responsible for incorporating and evaluating risk through your analyses, producing algorithms in R and/or Python, and understanding the concept of data sampling. Additionally, you will engage in data visualization using Tableau and present your findings to Executive Leadership. Your work will involve conducting exploratory data analysis with various types of data, including textual data, to derive actionable insights that impact the citizens we serve. As a Data Analyst at Tria, you will be expected to engage with internal stakeholders to collect, compile, sort, analyze, and convey complex data into recommendations and assessments. You will interface with external senior-level personnel under minimal supervision and work closely with web developers to create leadership and Subject Matter Expert (SME) dashboards. Your ability to build analytical models and perform quantitative analysis for strategic and campaign assessments will be crucial, especially in the context of military assessments and strategic risks. You will also leverage your experience with multivariate regression and non-parametric analysis to inform decision-making processes. This position requires a strong foundation in programming languages such as R, Python, XML, and Javascript, as well as experience with databases and coding for exploratory data analysis (EDA), data cleaning, and statistical tests. Familiarity with Big Data and the analysis of large datasets using AI/ML methods is essential, along with proficiency in statistical packages for analyzing large datasets. You will also be involved in database design, data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques, making your role integral to the success of the Industrial Assessments Branch.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and calculations to determine how data samples and reporting can best support the mission of the Industrial Assessments Branch and across the Agency
  • Conduct analysis to incorporate and evaluate risk

  • Understand the concept of data sampling
  • Visualize data using Tableau and present findings to Executive Leadership
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis with various types of data, including textual data
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to collect, compile, sort, analyze, and convey complex data into recommendations and assessments
  • Interface with external senior-level personnel under minimal supervision
  • Work with web developers to create leadership and SME dashboards, including web-enabled data collection for operations, activities, and investments (OAIs)
  • Build analytical models and perform quantitative analysis for strategic and campaign assessments, including military assessment and strategic risks
  • Utilize multivariate regression and non-parametric analysis
  • Work with programming languages (e.g. R, Python, XML, Javascript, ETL Frameworks) and databases; code for EDA, data cleaning, and statistical tests (e.g. SQL, SQLite, etc)
  • Analyze large data sets using Big Data and AI/ML methods
  • Utilize statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (e.g. SAS, Excel, SPSS, etc)
  • Engage in database design, data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Use data analysis tools (e.g. Tableau, RapidMiner, OpenRefine, KNIME, Google Search Operators, NodeXL, etc.)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar field
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly
  • Experience engaging with internal stakeholders to collect, compile, sort, analyze, and convey complex data into recommendations and assessments
  • Experience working with web developers to create leadership and SME dashboards
  • Ability to build analytical models and perform quantitative analysis for strategic and campaign assessments
  • Experience with multivariate regression and non-parametric analysis
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. R, Python, XML, Javascript, ETL Frameworks) and databases
  • Experience with Big Data and analysis of large data sets
  • Familiarity with statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (e.g. SAS, Excel, SPSS, etc)
  • Experience with database design, data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
