Responsibilities

  • Enter and update daily inventory details for all commodities.
  • Monitor and document inbound and outbound commodities at the plant.
  • Reconcile inventory data with trade records for consistency.
  • Collaborate with finance and trading teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Create and maintain proforma documents for customers detailing commodity specifications.
  • Project future bank account balances based on commodity values and forecasts.
  • Prepare financial reports reflecting anticipated cash flow and inventory valuation.
  • Analyze production rates to forecast inventory levels for upcoming months.
  • Utilize historical data and market trends to refine inventory forecasts.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory status and projections for management review.
  • Present findings to the risk management team to support decision-making.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested by management.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and risk management.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers regarding discrepancies in contracts and prices.
  • Complete and submit necessary tax documents related to commodity transactions.
  • Implement automation to improve processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and data analysis.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement data validation rules for automated data entry.
  • Collect and consolidate plant input and output data related to ethanol production.
  • Prepare detailed risk positions for trades involving various commodities.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and data models for tracking and analysis.
  • Monitor market trends and analyze their impact on trading strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and practices.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the energy or commodities sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of the ethanol production process and related commodities.
  • Extensive experience with Excel/Google spreadsheets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles and practices.
  • Programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL.

  • Ability to commute to Columbus, GA
