About the position

SCA Health is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Health Innovation Value Enterprise (HiVE) Team. This team is dedicated to evolving SCA Health's specialist partnership vision, aiming to create sustainable value-based care solutions through joint venture partnerships. The HiVE focuses on developing risk-bearing entities driven by a global risk, specialty-focused payment model. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing specialist quality and cost performance metrics, as well as reviewing healthcare claims data. Your work will involve examining and organizing complex datasets to provide meaningful insights that support our strategic goals. In this position, you will support senior analysts and team members in developing and executing innovative strategies and risk-based arrangements tailored to specialty care. You will be responsible for data cleansing, validation, and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of healthcare claims data. Additionally, you will retrieve, organize, and manipulate data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other databases to support reporting and analytics efforts. Your analysis will focus on provider cost and clinical quality output derived from healthcare claims data, identifying trends and opportunities that will inform team decision-making and strategic direction. You will also assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational reports and dashboards for HiVE partners and stakeholders. Monitoring analytical output for data integrity and resolving discrepancies will be key responsibilities, as will continuously improving data processes and workflows to optimize efficiency and accuracy. Effective communication of analytic findings through written reports and presentations will be essential, ensuring clarity and accuracy in conveying complex concepts. You will also assist in project management tasks, tracking project progress, and maintaining documentation, while actively seeking new opportunities to contribute during meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior analysts and team members in the development and performance of specialty focused innovative strategies and risk-based arrangements.
  • Perform data cleansing, data validation, and quality checks from healthcare claims data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Retrieve, organize, and manipulate data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse and other databases to support reporting and analytics.
  • Analyze provider cost and clinical quality output derived from healthcare claims data to extract provider opportunities and utilization patterns.
  • Identify trends to support team decision making and strategic direction.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational reports and dashboards for HiVE partners and other stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitor analytical output for data integrity and to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Continuously improve data processes and workflows to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate analytic findings effectively in written reports and presentations, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Assist in project management tasks, such as tracking project progress and maintaining documentation.
  • Present ideas and participate in meetings - Actively seek new opportunities to contribute.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or related field.
  • 2-3 years' work experience in data analytics or similar role preferred.
  • Experience in hospital, health plan, risk-based care delivery organizations, or physician claims analytics preferred.
  • Proficiency with SQL.
  • High proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with Tableau Desktop, or similar visual analytics platform preferred.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
  • Certification in data analytics or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of the time to team, partner, and health plan meetings.
