About the position
The Data Analytics Analyst - Public Health at Denver Health is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple data-driven projects. This role involves gathering business requirements, extracting and analyzing data, creating reports and visualizations, and developing system solutions to support clinical operations and grant reporting. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity while providing insights to improve public health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Meet with stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with IT teams and subject matter experts to evaluate and validate data sources.
- Document business and data requirements, data sources, and programming logic.
- Manage projects as a lead or supporting team member, reviewing processes for improvement.
- Query databases and design data models for effective data management and reporting.
- Create visualizations to convey data analysis results and present findings to leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Health Services Research, Public Health, Mathematics, Science, or a closely related field.
- 1-3 years of professional experience with relational databases and data reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic SQL skills and understanding of relational database concepts.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SAS programming and Epic ambulatory certification.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft SSRS.
