About the position

The Data Analytics Engineer I is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for the development and maintenance of data sets and visualizations that drive decision-making and operational efficiency. This position requires a blend of programming skills and analytical thinking to build, customize, and manage integration tools, databases, and analytical systems. The Data Analytics Engineer I will assist in designing and implementing solutions that integrate, process, and analyze large data sets, which is essential for our data-driven initiatives. In this role, the engineer will be expected to meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies, which include being a Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. The engineer will assist in analyzing large data sets to identify trends and insights that can inform strategic decisions. Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work closely with other team members and engineers to design and implement data processing and integration solutions that enhance our data capabilities. The Data Analytics Engineer I will also recommend improvements in data handling and processing based on the latest technological advancements, ensuring that our systems remain cutting-edge. Participation in projects that involve sorting, analyzing, processing, and integrating large amounts of data will be a regular part of the job. The engineer will develop visualizations using various technologies to effectively represent data findings, making complex data accessible and understandable to stakeholders. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate by developing software solutions in languages such as Java, Python, C, HTML, and SQL. Testing software solutions to ensure they meet functional requirements is also a critical responsibility. The engineer will develop and maintain code bases across multiple programming languages, ensuring that programming tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. Documentation of all development and data processing phases for future reference is essential, as is a commitment to continuously learning and applying best practices in data analytics and software development.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field is preferred.
  • 0 - 1 years of analytics solutions or Healthcare IT experience preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL Server environment experience is preferred.
  • Certifications in Hadoop or Java are preferred.
