About the position

As a Data Analytics Engineer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in evolving Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines that handle both structured and unstructured data from a variety of disparate sources. This is essential for supporting an advanced Insider Threat program. Your responsibilities will include designing analytical visualizations through custom dashboards, collaborating closely with Data Science and Analysis teams to ensure that the visualizations meet the needs of internal customers and senior leadership. You will be involved in all stages of the continuous development lifecycle, which encompasses design, development, testing, and deployment of the analytics solutions. In addition to technical skills, you will be expected to provide support and presentations of the visualization platform to various stakeholders, ensuring that the insights derived from the data are effectively communicated. You will work alongside the design team and product management to implement innovative analytic and visualization approaches that address real-world threat problems. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in the analytics processes.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data to support the Insider Threat program.
  • Design analytical visualizations via custom dashboards in collaboration with Data Science and Analysis staff.
  • Participate in all steps of the continuous development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide support and presentations of the visualization platform to internal customers and senior leadership.
  • Work with design team and product management to implement innovative analytic and visualization approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing ETL pipelines using SAS, Python, or R.
  • Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, or MySQL queries.
  • 3+ years of experience developing visual analytics reports in SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Visual Investigator, SAS Studio, Tableau, QlikView or similar technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and willingness to learn.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to resolve user questions through independent study and collaborative efforts.
  • Platform administration and engineering experience with SAS 9 or SAS Viya 4 or similar architecture.
  • SAS Certifications or certifications from similar technologies.
  • Experience in UI and/or UX design.
  • Experience with automation development in Python.
  • Experience with API development.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes); Azure / AWS / GCP / OpenShift infrastructure experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of Agile development practices and tools such as GITLAB.
  • Experience with CI/CD and associated tools like Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, Linux commands.
