In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources. You will create and manage data models to support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring the smooth flow of data from source systems to data warehouses. Collaboration with data analysts and business stakeholders will be essential to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs. You will also be responsible for implementing data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data. Optimizing data processing and storage for performance and cost efficiency will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, models, and processes, assist the Business Systems team with ad-hoc querying and reporting from ERP/CRM systems, and help with data integrations between these systems and custom-built applications. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics will be crucial for improving existing processes. This position requires a strong commitment to understanding and displaying the values of Wilson Language Training, along with the flexibility to take on other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources.
  • Create and manage data models to support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure the smooth flow of data from source systems to data warehouses.
  • Work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions that meet their needs.
  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data.
  • Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, models, and processes.
  • Assist Business Systems team with ad-hoc querying and reporting from ERP/CRM systems.
  • Help with data integrations between these systems and our custom-built applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics, and apply them to improve existing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL, dBT, Python, and/or R.
  • Experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi) and data warehousing solutions (Azure SQL, Azure Fabric, Azure Synapse).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure Fabric.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
