About the position

The Data Analytics Engineer at Subaru of America is responsible for developing and optimizing cloud-based Business Intelligence solutions. This role enhances data analytics capabilities and drives innovative solutions, requiring deep technical expertise in data engineering. The engineer will manage data integrations from on-premises Oracle systems, Cloud CRM, and telematics, while collaborating closely with Data Science and Enterprise Data Warehouse teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Data Factory and Databricks, leveraging Py Spark for data transformations.
  • Build and manage ETL/ELT processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data storage solutions.
  • Create high-code data engineering solutions to clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis.
  • Develop and manage data models, schemas, and data warehouses using Lakehouse Architecture.
  • Leverage Unity Catalog for unified data governance across the enterprise's data assets.
  • Optimize data storage, retrieval strategies, and query performance for scalability and efficiency.
  • Integrate and harmonize data from diverse sources, ensuring data quality and reliability.
  • Utilize GitHub for version control and collaborative development, implementing CI/CD workflows.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse.
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark.
  • Experience integrating data from on-premises Oracle systems and connected vehicle data into cloud-based solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Lakehouse Architecture and Unity Catalog for data governance.
  • Proficiency in GitHub for development and deployment in large-scale environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM templates or terraform.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving data infrastructure challenges.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Data Science teams and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
