About the position

The Data Analytics Engineer at Under Armour plays a crucial role in providing quality data modeling and visualization solutions to support cross-functional business units. This position focuses on enhancing decision-making processes through the development and maintenance of a modernized data platform, ensuring that business needs are met effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Model, design, develop, test and implement backend and front-end structures for business visualization and reporting requirements.
  • Leverage integration and analytics tools to build a reliable and high-performing modern data warehouse.
  • Build dashboards following wireframe designs and integrate them with backend data models.
  • Interact with the client business community to gather functional and technical requirements for reporting solutions.
  • Manage the full life cycle of development from requirements gathering to report/dashboard design and creation.
  • Document development processes for peer reference and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Data Analysts to clarify functional requirements and create technical documentation.
  • Work on data transformation using ETL tools and build dimension views and fact tables.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure optimal performance and access for global reporting solutions.
  • Educate and empower the business community towards a self-serve reporting model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 2 years of related experience OR Master's degree without experience OR typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Fundamental data architecture and design skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and strong data transformation skills.
  • 1+ years of experience in design and development of analytical queries, reports, and visualizations utilizing the Tableau Platform or similar reporting tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with DBT or similar data orchestration tool.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a CICD framework.
  • 2+ years of experience with Snowflake VWH and data modeling.

Nice-to-haves

  • DBT/Snowflake/Tableau certifications
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP
  • Python
