About the position

The Data Analytics Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines, data models, dashboards, and reports that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that data solutions are reliable, scalable, and user-friendly. The engineer will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, investment analysts, and operational stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making processes. In this role, the Data Analytics Engineer will design, build, and optimize data pipelines utilizing various data sources, tools, and frameworks such as SQL, Python, and Spark. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining data models and schemas that adhere to industry best practices and standards. The engineer will create and update dashboards and reports using visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, ensuring that the data presented is accurate and actionable. Additionally, the Data Analytics Engineer will perform data quality checks and troubleshoot any data issues that arise. Documentation of data processes and workflows is essential, as is providing technical support and guidance to data users. The role also involves researching and evaluating new data technologies and trends, making recommendations for improvements to existing systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines, data models, dashboards, and reports.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using various data sources, tools, and frameworks (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark).
  • Develop and maintain data models and schemas that adhere to best practices and standards.
  • Create and update dashboards and reports using visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
  • Perform data quality checks and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Document data processes and workflows and provide technical support and guidance to data users.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, investment analysts, and operational stakeholders to understand their data needs.
  • Research and evaluate new data technologies and trends and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, finance, statistics, or a related field.
  • 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience as a data scientist, data engineer, business intelligence analyst, or a similar role.
  • Strong experience in SQL and Python programming; proficient with Excel and at least one visualization software (Tableau preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines using workflow management tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Synapse).
  • Experience in working with big data platforms and tools (e.g. Azure, Databricks, dbt, Spark).
  • Experience in creating and managing data models and schemas using data modeling tools.
