About the position

The Data Analytics Engineer will be a key member of the Data & Analytics team, focusing on enhancing analytical capabilities by integrating AI and ML into various projects. This role supports business initiatives across CardWorks and Merrick Bank, requiring expertise in data handling, visualization, and model deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and report actionable intelligence using data from internal and external sources for leadership across the organization.
  • Identify and interpret trends in datasets to drive insights using cloud-based technologies, including AWS, Snowflake, & Power BI.
  • Assist in implementing auditable data controls while adhering to data governance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with business, operations, and data engineers to translate business problems into technical specifications for AI and ML solutions.
  • Design, develop, and test AI and ML models using programming languages and frameworks such as Python and TensorFlow.
  • Integrate ML models into production systems using MLOps practices and cloud platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of ML models, identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Document AI and ML solutions, including model descriptions, code, and deployment procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of AI and ML concepts, including machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and deployment.
  • 4+ years of experience in programming with Python, C#, or other relevant languages.
  • Hands-on software development experience.
  • UI development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial services is preferred.
  • Curiosity to learn how data drives decision making.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies or a keen interest in learning new technologies.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence capabilities.
