About the position

The Data/Analytics Engineer at Vectra will play a crucial role in supporting the Business Operations organization by establishing and managing data infrastructure that facilitates revenue delivery and enhances customer satisfaction. This position combines architectural responsibilities with analytical tasks, focusing on building and optimizing data pipelines and reporting systems that serve various business functions. The role also involves managing remote data management resources to ensure effective data operations.

Responsibilities

  • Move and transform data from various sources for analysis and visualization.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using SQL and DBT.
  • Build, automate, deploy, and maintain data models and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data models, workflows, and processes.
  • Implement data quality and validation checks to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Implement CI/CD practices for version control and automated deployments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect requirements and write secure, accurate, and extensible data models.
  • Leverage tools like Python Boto3/Botocore and Pandas for scripting and automation tasks in AWS Lambda.
  • Manage and secure data infrastructure using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and IAM.
  • Perform data exploration and analytical deep dives to discover insights or opportunities.
  • Deliver data insights through dashboards, memos, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with business and data analysts to model data structures that meet business requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as an analytics engineer, data analyst, data engineer, or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in data modeling and data warehouse architecture.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience working with dbt.
  • Business acumen and experience with functional areas such as Product, GTM, Finance, Marketing, or Customer Experience.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and listening skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse audience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Tool experience preferred: SQL, Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Data Warehousing, Data Lake (AWS S3), GitHub, Performance Tuning & Optimization, Data Modeling tools, BI Visualization (Tableau/Looker/etc).
