About the position

The Data & Analytics Manager will oversee data governance, manipulation, integration, and acquisition, focusing on building metrics and generating reports. This role requires hands-on analysis of raw data, maintaining datasets, and improving data quality to deliver actionable insights and solutions. The manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of data products and systems, ensuring effective data analytics support for business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a data delivery team onshore/offshore to deliver Business Intelligence metrics, reports, data conversions, and mapping.
  • Collect, clarify, and translate data requirements into documentation and conceptual design.
  • Elicit requirements using various methods including interviews, workshops, and business analysis.
  • Own the development, delivery, and documentation of data management and BI solutions.
  • Create a roadmap and milestones for maturing the analytics and management space.
  • Work on data dictionary, data mapping, data lineage, and data transformations, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Design and implement data solutions by inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data.
  • Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings for data sets.
  • Support data storage and integration solutions including databases and BI solutions.
  • Create and maintain blueprints illustrating how information is stored, processed, and accessed.
  • Build dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations to identify trends and patterns.
  • Modify existing reports, extracts, dashboards, and cubes as necessary.
  • Design and maintain data models for reporting and analytics from various data sources.
  • Identify new features and business opportunities through data analysis.
  • Enable self-service BI capabilities for users.
  • Monitor and tune BI tools and data integrations for optimal performance.
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining and visualization.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise data.
  • Ensure adherence to an enterprise data governance framework.
  • Lead ad-hoc business deep dive analysis and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Propose data schema and flow optimizations for reporting performance.
  • Recommend systems and process improvements based on current knowledge of business and technology.
  • Partner with architecture and solution delivery teams to enable BI/data applications.
  • Identify and implement automation across development and delivery processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or information systems.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and processes.
  • 8+ years of experience with SQL, SQL Server, ETL, SSRS, SSIS, PowerBI, SSAS software, systems, and programs.
  • 8+ years of experience with Agile, Python, Datawarehouse (Azure Data warehousing), Azure Cloud, TSQL, and R language software and systems.
  • 6+ years of experience with Data ingestion, Data processing, and Data publishing methodologies.
  • Fluent in statistics, datasets, and scripting.
  • Understanding of data modeling and data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.).
  • Experience in extracting data from structured (RDBMS) and unstructured sources (flat files).
  • Understanding of database operations and optimization for RDBMS like SQL Server.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
