About The Position

The Data Analytics (Marketing) Intern position at Kuraray America, Inc. offers a unique opportunity for junior or senior-level college students to gain hands-on experience in the business-to-business specialty chemicals market. This paid internship program blends real-world experience with an extensive overview of the chemical industry, allowing interns to work on a strategic project involving market research, data analysis, and value chain mapping. Interns will receive guidance from knowledgeable mentors and will be expected to work full-time for a duration of three to four months during the summer of 2025.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a bachelor's in Marketing, Business, Economics, Chemical Engineering, Data Analytics or related degree.
• Currently a junior or senior.
• Proficient in Excel (charts, graphs, formulas, etc.) and MS PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical skills with a passion for market research and data analysis.
• Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to ask critical questions to drive understanding.
• Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Strong academic performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis in the B2B specialty chemicals market.
• Identify and analyze market trends, regulatory requirements, and potential growth opportunities.
• Build capabilities in understanding the value chain, both upstream and downstream, in the relevant market sectors.
• Develop a detailed market map of the value chains to support effective market targeting and segmentation.
• Assist the new business development and Sales team with gathering and analyzing data to support data-driven decision-making.
• Engage in questioning techniques to challenge assumptions and explore new opportunities.
• Potentially travel to customer sites or trade shows as needed.
