About the position

The Principal Technology Architect - Data and Analytics at PSEG will leverage expert skills to define and deliver data and analytics solutions, aligning IT plans with business strategies. This role involves leading major data and analytics programs, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the development of robust data architectures and models. The position requires a deep understanding of business processes and data technologies, and it reports directly to the Director of Analytics Architecture and Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders to translate goals into data & analytics architectures and models.
  • Lead the data design of solutions for analytics projects and programs across applications and infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain reusable analytics artifacts, including data models and architectures.
  • Develop data & analytics policies, standards, guidelines, and metrics to measure architectural quality.
  • Engage with implementation teams to promote the use of existing models and services, enhancing technology solution delivery.
  • Research architectural paradigms and modern constructs to inform technology architecture.
  • Ensure compatibility with existing solutions and strategic requirements.
  • Direct large specialist teams in delivering comprehensive analytics projects, providing clear data architecture leadership.
  • Communicate objectives and business outcomes of data & analytics technology architecture to maximize value.
  • Support evaluation and decision-making in data & analytics technology spending, simplifying existing architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • 8-15 years of experience in technology solution engineering, including architecture and application development.
  • Broad knowledge of data modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools.
  • Experience with data lakes, data warehousing, and cloud-based deployments.
  • Strong understanding of data management and integration techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in data & analytics architecture ownership.
  • Ability to translate business and technical requirements into data architectures and standards.
  • Experience with ETL and business intelligence tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with emerging technologies for data management and analytics.
  • Certifications in relevant fields.
