About the position

The Data and Analytics Engineer at Cloudflare will play a crucial role in scaling data insights initiatives by designing and implementing data pipelines, conducting ad-hoc analytics, and automating analysis processes. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective data collection and analysis, ultimately contributing to understanding resource consumption and costs across Cloudflare's product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data pipelines that take unprocessed data and make it usable for advanced analytics
  • Work closely with other product and engineering teams to ensure our products and services collect the right data for our analytics
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of data scientists, analysts, and internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives
  • Build tooling, automation, and visualizations around our analytics for consumption by other Cloudflare teams

Requirements

  • Excellent Python and SQL skills
  • B.S. or M.S in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in software engineering, data engineering, data science or related field
  • Track record of extracting, transforming and loading large datasets
  • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage/computing principles
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work through ambiguous business requirements

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Airflow
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or other analytics databases
