About the position

The Data and Analytics Engineer will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of a financial management platform for small businesses. This position involves working closely with the founders and principal software engineer to design, develop, deploy, test, and troubleshoot the Tensor Clarity application, focusing on merchant identification, categorization, and prediction. The ideal candidate will possess strong software engineering skills and a passion for data analytics, contributing to the overall success of the product as it moves to market.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the existing development team on the current code base.
• Extending, testing, and maintaining the data ingestion pipeline architecture, ensuring data is collected, stored, and made accessible for analysis.
• Developing and improving feedback for the predictive forecasting engine.
• Continuous optimization of the prediction models.
• Conducting analytical assessments of platform behavior to proactively identify problems, improvements, and new concepts.
• Performing data grooming and analysis for new client onboarding actions.
• Deducing anomalies and driving product enhancements for resolution.
• Working iteratively with the product team to build working solutions that meet customer needs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant development experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in AWS with DynamoDB, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in managing a data lake/warehouse.
• Familiarity with AWS Sagemaker.
• Familiarity with one of the associated unit test frameworks aligned to the tech stack.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Comfortable working with Jira and Github.
