About the position

The Data and BI Analyst role at AVEVA involves analyzing business data, creating and maintaining business intelligence tools, and generating reports to support informed decision-making among stakeholders. This position requires collaboration with various business units to identify analytical needs, ensure data accuracy, and leverage data visualization tools to deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance.
  • Develop ad hoc and scheduled reports using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data and reporting needs and metrics.
  • Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and visualizations.
  • Ensure dashboards are aligned with business goals and are accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform data cleansing and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Conduct regular audits of critical reports for accuracy and consistency.
  • Partner with business units to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Present findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide training and support for end-users of BI tools and using centralized data platform.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and reports to enhance efficiency.
  • Stay updated on emerging BI technologies and best practices.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Work with data warehouses and ETL tools to extract, transform, and load data.
  • Support data migration and integration projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful insights through BI tools.
  • Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Excel, and data visualization principles.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with programming languages like Python or R.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data modeling best practices.
  • Understanding of latest AI/ML technologies.
