About the position

The Data and Gift Specialist I at Children's Mercy is responsible for processing charitable donations and maintaining accurate donor records. The role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of donor information and supporting the hospital's philanthropic efforts.

Responsibilities

• Enters information and creates records for donors, volunteers, and event attendees into Raiser's Edge.
• Maintains accurate records for periodic reporting requirements and performs data clean-up.
• Processes daily donations, evaluates, sorts, and totals all donations received.
• Prepares and balances batches for remote deposit and analyzes gifts for appropriate campaigns and funds.
• Enters and processes coding, receipts, and thank you letters into the Raiser's Edge database.
• Processes credit card and online donations, including refunds as needed.
• Tracks major fundraising events in the donor software program.
• Performs data entry and reconciliation procedures to comply with hospital and IRS rules.
• Assists with data integrity projects and maintains biographical information in the donor database.
• Volunteers at special events and produces honor/memorial cards and acknowledgments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in fundraising or philanthropic operations, including data entry and gift processing.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong grammar and spelling skills.

• Experience with Raiser's Edge software.
