About the position

The Data and Reporting Coordinator at Hudson County Community College plays a crucial role in supporting the Institutional Research and Planning office by managing data flows, responding to data requests, and assisting in the development of data warehousing solutions. This position involves analyzing college-wide assessment data, preparing reports, and disseminating findings to enhance institutional effectiveness and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Create and simplify data flows and data sources for Institutional Research and Planning and other College stakeholders.
  • Curate and develop assessment- and effectiveness-related resources and tools.
  • Respond to internal and external data requests.
  • Support state and federal reporting efforts through dataset preparation.
  • Assist in developing a Data Warehousing solution.
  • Provide survey design and administration assistance across the College.
  • Identify and collect data from various sources to support assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts.
  • Analyze and interpret assessment data, prepare reports and dashboards, and disseminate findings.
  • Represent the office at meetings and on various committees.
  • Conduct relevant research projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two or more years of effective experience in extracting, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft products, particularly Excel; experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Query is a plus.
  • Experience with a Reporting Platform (SAP Business Objects preferred).
  • Data Science skills: extracting, cleaning, joining, analyzing, and visualizing data from various sources.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Curiosity, creativity, independence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to process improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Data Management skills: data warehousing, process automation, SQL, relational database design, data dictionaries, and metadata.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Survey design, management, and analysis experience; Qualtrics preferred.
  • Prior experience with state and federal compliance reporting.
  • Familiarity with AI, Machine Learning, UX, and App Development.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance and creating Data Dictionaries.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague and/or EAB Navigate.
  • Prior experience in Higher Education.
