About the position

The Data and Research Scientist position is a full-time contract role based in Austin, TX, focusing on providing analytical solutions to support the Cadillac Global Strategy & Operations Team. The role emphasizes innovation and analytics, requiring strong technical skills in data science, statistics, and communication to drive business outcomes through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral member within the Cadillac Global Strategy & Operations Team, focusing on innovation and analytics.
  • Develop analytical solutions to address and improve KPIs and business results.
  • Leverage data mining, predictive modeling, simulation, and visualization techniques to enhance insights and performance optimization.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and design search patterns for data mining and reduction.
  • Mentor junior researchers and data scientists to enhance their analytical skills.
  • Continuously update knowledge on the latest software and hardware innovations and ideate on their application.
  • Establish strong working relationships with interdisciplinary teams including Enterprise Data and Analytics and IT.
  • Drive the acquisition of new data and refine existing datasets to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Create best practices for research instrumentation and experimentation and share with peer teams.
  • Develop analytics to support complex event processing and real-time data analysis in big data contexts.
  • Serve as an expert in predictive and prescriptive analytics, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Use structured approaches for communicating data insights through data storytelling.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience using data to solve problems, hypothesis testing, and creating visualizations and storytelling to address business problems.
  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and database management.
  • 8+ years of professional development experience.
  • Solid experience with Big Data technologies in Data Bricks platform using Python/R.
  • Master's degree in STEM fields required; Ph.D. in STEM fields preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the auto industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Robotics is preferred.

  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $50 to $62.
  • Full-time contract position with a structured 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday.
