About the position

The Data and Technology Governance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Data and Technology Governance activities for the Data Modernization Initiative and Public Health Infrastructure Grant at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This role ensures alignment with the Northstar Architecture and participates in quality assurance and improvement of modernized public health infrastructure and data. The manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive Data Governance Framework.

Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing Data and Technology Governance activities for the Data Modernization Initiative and Public Health Infrastructure Grant.
• Ensure alignment with the Northstar Architecture for scalable and flexible data systems.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement of public health infrastructure and data.
• Collaborate with the Public Health Data Modernization Initiatives Manager and Business Technology Product Deputy Director.
• Develop and implement the Data Governance Framework at CDPHE.

Requirements

• Six years of relevant experience in technology or data management, technology administration, or information technology.
• A Master's degree in public administration, business administration, computer science, or information technology is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience managing or supporting data management or governance initiatives related to data infrastructure.
• Experience with technology-related change management implementation.
• Experience supporting strategic business decisions impacting multiple stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating and supporting data system training methods.
• Experience performing partner or stakeholder outreach.
• Experience scheduling and facilitating meetings.
• Experience managing or supporting quality assurance initiatives related to data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with data analytics platforms and data visualization tools like ESRI ArcGIS and Tableau.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
