About the position

The Data Architect will collaborate with various teams to design and implement data layer solutions that meet mission, technical, and security requirements. This role involves leading the development and deployment of these solutions while ensuring they are optimized for analytic missions. The architect will also document architectural guidance and assess software system designs to align with established requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical teams, architects, analytic stakeholders, and management to design and lead data layer solutions.
• Ensure the data layer solution is optimized to meet analytic mission requirements efficiently.
• Develop and document architectural guidance and interface designs for engineering teams.
• Assess the feasibility of software system designs and ensure alignment with mission requirements and security mandates.
• Analyze, define, and document requirements for data flows, processes, and security controls.
• Communicate technical assessments and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Oversee the design and development of custom solutions or evaluate and implement COTS solutions.
• Monitor emerging technologies and present technical recommendations to management.
• Design, program, and modify software systems and tools as needed.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
• Significant experience leading complex data architecture projects.
• Experience with Oracle, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, SQL, Java, and Linux.
• Hands-on data parsing and development experience with required technologies.
• Strong experience with the full data lifecycle in Big Data environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with standards and data issues in large-scale environments.
• Exceptional ability to manage competing priorities and communicate with multiple stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with multiple data management, content management, and knowledge management solutions.
• Experience with AWS in the Sponsor's environment.
