About the position

The Data Architect will collaborate with stakeholders and the development team to define project scope and vision, prioritize requirements, and design comprehensive data architectures that align with the organization's business goals. This role involves managing SQL pools, database design, data integration, governance, and ensuring data security and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to determine project scope and vision.
• Gather and prioritize collected requirements.
• Develop comprehensive data architectures using Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL.
• Manage and optimize Dedicated SQL Pools in Synapse for large-scale data warehousing.
• Design, implement, and manage databases using Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instance.
• Develop and manage ETL processes using Synapse Pipelines.
• Implement data governance practices and manage the data catalog.
• Create and maintain scalable data models.
• Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Maintain procedures manuals and system documentation.
• Research software solutions to support recommendations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Synapse Analytics, Dedicated SQL Pools, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Managed Instance.
• 5+ years of experience in DDL, DML T-SQL skills, and advanced stored procedure writing.
• 4+ years of experience in data architecture design principles and best practices.
• 3+ years of experience in data governance principles and compliance requirements.
• 3+ years of experience in integrating data from various sources and managing large data pipelines.
• 2+ years of experience in cloud computing concepts, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
• 1+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala.
• 1+ years of experience in Salesforce, Message MQ, and MuleSoft.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data security and privacy compliance.
• Familiarity with Azure data services beyond SQL.
