About the position

The Data Architect role focuses on building sophisticated data pipelines and leading architectural design sessions for a modern data stack. The position emphasizes performance optimization and data integrity, working closely with data science and product management teams to develop new data products and capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build sophisticated data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake, emphasizing performance optimization and data integrity using Great Expectations.
• Lead architectural design sessions for the modern data stack, focusing on solutions that integrate with the technology stack including Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Great Expectations, and AWS data services.
• Collaborate with data science and product management teams to design, prototype, and productize new data product ideas and capabilities.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, focusing on data pipeline development, data architecture, and cloud-based solutions.
• 8+ years of experience building, leading, and managing high-performing technical teams, including hiring and onboarding top talent.
• Experience with AWS services, including S3, Airflow, DBT, GLUE, and LAMBDA.
• Expert level experience in Snowflake is preferred.
• Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, data modeling, data governance, and data quality management.
