About the position

The Data Architect at CapTech Ventures, Inc. plays a crucial role in aligning clients' business goals with effective data management technologies. This position focuses on enhancing data use, improving information stewardship, and streamlining data flows to deliver successful data implementations. Data Architects are seen as thought leaders, responsible for mentoring talent and expanding the company's data and analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and advocating data management technologies and practices to eliminate gaps between current and future states.
  • Interpreting and delivering strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery in support of business initiatives.
  • Formulating and articulating architectural trade-offs across solution options before recommending optimal solutions.
  • Motivating and developing staff through teaching and influencing technical and consulting skills.
  • Collaborating with client stakeholders to maximize the value of client data across the organization.
  • Driving innovative technology solutions through thought leadership on emerging trends.
  • Sharing project solutions and outcomes with colleagues to improve future project delivery.
  • Partnering with the business development team to demonstrate technical capabilities and estimate proposed work plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with on-premises and cloud data management, integration, visualization, and analytical technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in end-to-end data architecture solutions including ingestion, storage, and relational modeling using SQL and Python.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Kinesis), NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, DataBricks).
  • Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions to business needs and client culture.
  • Ability to assess traditional and modern data architectural components based on business needs.
  • Familiarity with data governance best practices including MDM, security, privacy, and policies.
