About the position

The Data Architect at Capgemini is responsible for designing and implementing data solutions using Google Cloud Platform services. This role involves leveraging cloud-native architectures, data integration tools, and programming skills to optimize data pipelines and ensure data quality. The position requires collaboration with global teams and effective communication of technical details to non-technical stakeholders, all while focusing on automation and efficiency in data processing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize GCP services including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Workflows.
  • Design effective cloud-native architectures for data solutions.
  • Work with data integration tools such as Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow) and Dataflow.
  • Proficiently program in Python and SQL, and manage infrastructure using Terraform, CI/CD processes, and Git flows.
  • Design robust data models and develop efficient ETL processes, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Monitor data pipelines and GCP resources using Stackdriver, optimizing for performance and cost.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, including log reviews and collaboration with networking, security, IAM, and DBAs.
  • Collaborate effectively with global teams, documenting practices clearly and conveying technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Automate routine data processing tasks using scripts and GCP tools.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Proficient in data integration and transformation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Capgemini Architects certification level 1 or 2.
  • Relevant security certifications.
  • IAF and/or industry certifications such as TOGAF 9 or equivalent.
