About the position

The Data Architect (Cloud) position at Client involves leading the creation of strategic enterprise data architecture to support data-driven decisions and automation. This role requires collaboration with data engineering, product managers, and data science teams to meet various data requirements. The Data Architect will define principles and standards for data management, validate adherence to policies, and provide expert guidance to ensure alignment with the target state architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of the strategic enterprise data architecture.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define principles, standards, and guidelines for data management.
  • Provide expertise in data architecture for critical programs and data quality remediation activities.
  • Validate data architecture for adherence to defined policies and regulatory directives.
  • Define and develop enterprise data architecture concepts and standards using advanced data technologies.
  • Gather requirements with business stakeholders and agile teams.
  • Write requirements for ETL and BI developers.
  • Design data architecture for data warehouse or data lake solutions and end-to-end pipelines.
  • Conduct intake prioritization and cost/benefit analysis for data initiatives.
  • Design or approve data models that reflect the technology teams' work and business impact.
  • Design end-to-end data pipelines, including security reviews and deployment overviews.
  • Automate reporting views for management and executives.
  • Create self-service reporting and a data lake for internal projects.
  • Design comprehensive data quality management tooling.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical work including business intelligence and analytics.
  • 4+ years of experience in architecture for commercial scale data pipelines.
  • Experience in solving problems in ambiguous environments with constant change.
  • Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines for data-driven decisions.
  • Exposure to Amazon AWS or another cloud provider.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, or Looker.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing platforms and data pipeline tools like Redshift, Snowflake, SQL Server.
  • Passionate about programming and learning new technologies.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Motivated by driving business value.
  • Experience with large scale enterprise applications using big data solutions like Spark, Kafka, Elastic Search, and Hadoop.
  • Knowledge of programming and database technologies such as SQL, Python, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and others.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced CS degree is a plus.
