About the position

V2Soft is seeking a Data Architect Consultant/Expert to join our team in Dearborn, Michigan. This role is pivotal in leading design discussions and creating comprehensive data models, including conceptual and logical data models, as well as data dictionaries. The successful candidate will manage and maintain these data models, ensuring they align with the company's standards and best practices. The Data Architect will also define the reporting strategy and identify the sources for reporting data, which is crucial for effective data analysis and decision-making. In this position, you will perform data quality analysis to identify issues and propose solutions to resolve them. You will guide product teams in creating physical data model designs and ensure adherence to established guidelines. Your expertise will be essential in consulting and guiding product teams through the design and implementation phases, facilitating discussions to understand the source of data, establishing systems of record, and creating current and future state data flows. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating an information architecture roadmap that outlines the current, near, and far views of data architecture. This roadmap will serve as a strategic guide for the organization’s data management and utilization efforts, ensuring that data is effectively leveraged to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead design discussions and create conceptual data models, logical data models, and data dictionaries.
• Manage and maintain data models.
• Define reporting strategy and identify sources for reporting data.
• Perform data quality analysis, identify issues, and propose solutions to resolve them.
• Guide product teams to create physical data model designs and data dictionaries.
• Review design adherence and ensure standards, guidelines, and best practices are followed.
• Consult and guide product teams through design and implementation.
• Create information architecture roadmap with now, near, and far view.
• Facilitate discussions to understand the source of data, establish systems of record, and create current and future state data flows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Data Modeling experience with expertise in Relational and/or Dimensional Analysis.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Warehouse database design.
• Deep understanding of data modeling principles and architecture concepts.
• Extensive experience designing databases supporting complex business processes.
• Experience in supporting database technologies such as Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Hadoop, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and GCP Big Query.

Nice-to-haves

• Good collaborative and communication skills.
• Experience with data modeling in enterprise tools such as Power Designer or ERWIN.
• Capable of working well individually and as a team member.
