About the position

The Data Architect/Data Integration role involves reviewing and analyzing current data infrastructures, planning future databases, and implementing solutions to store, integrate, and manage data for the organization. This position supports the design, development, testing, and implementation of processes that pull data from various source systems and integrate it into the data warehouse, ensuring efficient data management and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze current data infrastructures.
  • Plan future databases and implement solutions for data storage and integration.
  • Support the design, development, testing, and implementation of data processes.
  • Translate business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams.
  • Identify internal and external data sources to establish data pipelines.
  • Develop new data models and implement tables in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
  • Assist with populating, automating, and maintaining metadata for the EDW.
  • Develop solutions to monitor usage and performance of the EDW.
  • Implement new data integrations and support changes to existing integrations.
  • Investigate performance issues with queries and ETL processes on the EDW.
  • Provide support to data analysts for complex problems using advanced SQL methods.
  • Develop and conduct end-user training for the EDW.
  • Contribute to the definition and adherence to EDW guiding principles.
  • Interface with other IT teams to ensure EDW environments are up to date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or five years of enterprise-level experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Minimum three years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Working knowledge in Cloud/Big Data solutions or related technologies.
  • Expertise in data architecture concepts such as data modeling, workflow management, ETL/ELT, and real-time streaming.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure/Synapse/Power BI, SSIS, Epic EHR, or Workday ERP.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability to solve business and technical problems with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in managing concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
