About the position

As a Data Architect at PNC, you will play a crucial role in defining, implementing, and supporting databases for the enterprise data warehouse and related information systems. This position requires strong business analysis skills and experience in relational databases, working collaboratively with data analysts and subject matter experts to meet business requirements. You will be responsible for developing data models, translating logical models into physical data models, and ensuring compliance with internal standards while supporting the implementation of new requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of the Data Modeling team to define, implement, and support databases for the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, subject matter experts, and requestors to understand business requirements.
  • Develop and document business definitions of entities and attributes.
  • Recognize patterns and structures in information requirements sourced from various systems.
  • Integrate new information requirements into current data models, extending existing structures and adding new ones.
  • Translate logical models into physical data models using data modeling tools and generate data definition language scripts.
  • Develop specification and data mapping documents for data movement processes with data analysts.
  • Review specifications for meaning, completeness, correctness, and compliance with internal standards.
  • Support the implementation of new requirements in collaboration with developers and database administrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, information technology, or a similar discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility within an information management or analysis environment.
  • 3-5 years of relational database analysis and design experience.
  • Experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling; familiarity with industry standard reference models is a plus.
  • Data warehouse experience is required.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Experience with Teradata and/or Oracle is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data modeling tools, preferably Erwin.
  • Experience with Azure AI, PySpark, .NET, AWS, GIT, and CI/CD.
