About the position

The Data Architect & Data Security Engineer at Strategic Analysis, Inc. will support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) by providing technical guidance and ensuring the implementation of robust and scalable data solutions with a strong focus on security and compliance. This role involves planning, coordination, and execution of data-related activities within the organization, contributing to large-scale data projects, and analyzing scientific and technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to external teams working on large-scale data projects.
  • Participate in Cyber Security Challenges or hackathons.
  • Contribute to product development efforts.
  • Ensure robust and scalable data solutions are implemented with a strong focus on security and compliance.
  • Analyze scientific and technical data with respect to novelty, rigor, and robustness.
  • Evaluate and advise on cloud-based technologies and architectures.
  • Build and maintain detailed program plans under the leadership of a Project Manager.
  • Assist in writing and reviewing technical documents and solicitations.

Requirements

  • BS, Masters, or PhD in computer science, data science, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience preferred, with at least 3 years of practical hands-on experience in roles such as data architect.
  • Proficiency with large cloud-based systems like Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, and others like Hadoop and Spark.
  • Ability to implement and manage data warehousing solutions, data lakes, and ETL processes in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to leverage cloud analytic tools and services for insights from large datasets.
  • Experience in healthcare technologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, NIST, and CMCC standards.
  • Familiarity with security architecture and encryption.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with basic and applied research in a health-related field.
  • Experience supporting Program Managers in an R&D environment.
