About the position

The Azure Data Architect will play a crucial role in enhancing the Data Analytics practice and developing the Enterprise Data Model. This position involves leading the design and development of a Modern Data Platform, translating business processes into data structures, and optimizing data flow and performance. The architect will also be responsible for data migration, validation, and the creation of enterprise databases, while demonstrating expertise in dimensional database environments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Modern Data Platform maturity and development
  • Contribute to and successfully deliver the enterprise data model
  • Set the technical strategy and lead complex technical initiatives within the team
  • Explore technical needs of the business and propose robust solutions through functional data architecture strategy and design
  • Gather business and functional requirements and translate these into scalable, operable solutions
  • Understand customer pain points and build solutions to make complex data more accessible and usable
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to architect, implement, and test data-based analytical solutions
  • Develop strategies for data acquisitions
  • Architect, design, and maintain high-performing ELT/ETL processes
  • Conduct business analysis, event modeling, logical and physical database design, and database optimization
  • Design scalable Enterprise Data Architectures and solutions
  • Mentor team members where appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data & analytics
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in building and hydrating data models
  • Strong experience with Azure DataBricks and SQL/Python
  • Demonstrated understanding of enterprise data models and medallion architecture
  • Proficient in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Excellent data analysis and Python skills
  • Strong background in traditional and modern architectural patterns, software development, and system integration
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience with diverse teams

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with GPT/LLM, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning
