The Data Architect (Expert-Level) position is a critical role that involves providing strategic oversight and technical guidance in the design and development of database structures. This role is essential for ensuring that the databases support the evolving applications and business processes of the organization. The Data Architect will work closely with senior database administrators and application developers to create new databases and maintain existing ones, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and requirements. In this position, the Data Architect will consult with all levels of the organization, offering expertise on the design, development, and implementation of logical database structures and classification schemas. They will be responsible for developing policies and procedures that facilitate the building, maintenance, and leveraging of the data model. Additionally, the Data Architect will provide technical guidance on the development of metadata tags, Document Type Definitions (DTD), and schemas, utilizing appropriate technologies to represent data and its relationships effectively. A key aspect of this role is ensuring that metadata and data standards align with both business and mission processes, as well as system implementation approaches. The Data Architect will also need to adhere to the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) and the Analysis Support Group (ASG) requirements for data sharing, making this position vital for the organization's data governance and management strategies.
